Its late/early, I’m up doing work, and I’m tired and irritable.
If you don’t know who DIY GANG
is consider yourself lucky. There are several build shows I like/follow on YouTube. Recently, this crap fest has landed in my recommended list.
Started out as something interesting, guy gets a significantly fire damaged Hellcat Challenger and says he’s going to do something crazy! Host is incredibly annoying, but I assumed he was going to pull a possibly salvageable motor and swap it, or build a VetteCart/ShartKart/Leroy type car.
What proceeded was an excessive amount of mugging for the camera while Captain

spends countless videos cutting damaged parts off the carcass saying “LOOK THIS IS IN GREAT SHAPE! WE’RE GONNA REBUILD IT!!” Not counting the obvious hazard of trying to get a significantly fire damaged car back on the road, all this man

and hits on his youtube page. I’m the sucker that watched (skimmed if I’m honest)
4 episodes, but holy hell.
It really shouldn’t bother me as much as it does, but man, fuck this clown. It just feels so disingenuous and fake

I watched all of his videos. I love restoration videos (well done restores, anyway) and something in this bad of shape is right down my alley.
Yup...took all of a video or two to hate him. Feckin Christ, not only is he unprofessional (and annoying) he constantly feels the need to defend his bad decision. He has literally no idea how safe that car will be. I mean, there’s a reason they tear down houses that are complete burns.. And if I really wanna be petty, even the channel name is dumb. If you have to be an expert in a field to get a project done, that seems to go against the spirit of DIY.
I’m happy that other young people are into cars, but do they have to be this insufferable?

Step 3: buy a used SRT8 and pretend that it came back from paint.

In my opinion DIY Gang is doing his best to make a living off of YouTube. You have your opinions, but that doesn’t give you the right to talk shit about him. If you say otherwise, I buy you a ticket to my house so I can beat you up for a while.
